Patricia Lasalle

Assistant Masters Coach

Although Patricia skipped her swim lessons as a kid in order to hang out with friends, she embraced swimming as an adult in order to compete in triathlons.  Serendipitously, she fell in love with the sport of swimming and has swam consistently, with the exception of a week or two, for the past 20 years.  Her swim training has allowed her to cross the finish line of all levels of triathlon, including Ironman Canada.  She continues to compete in triathlon and was 2012 USAT Honorable Mention duathlete.

With her Level III ASCA coach certification, Level II USAT Expert Coach certification, and over 11 years coaching experience, she brings a deep understanding of adult learners as well as those who would like to compete at the highest levels.

Andy Wedaman

Coach Andy is an ASCA level 4 coach who led the Vacaville Swim Club as Head Coach from 1988 to 2011. He then continued as the Head Age Group Coach through 2014.  Coach Andy grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and swam there as a youth. He was greatly influenced by the coach at the University of Memphis, Dick Fadgent.  After college he coached at the West Seattle YMCA while also working at Boeing Aerospace as an engineer. Coach Andy then went into coaching full time by moving to Texas to work with the world-record-producing coach Jack Simon before coming to Vacaville Swim Club.

Coaching Philosophy

Coach Andy’s coaching philosophy involves getting the swimmers to challenge themselves and to mature from the challenge.  He likes them to learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable.  Coach Andy likes using swimming as the vehicle to learning life’s lessons including, but not limited to, having respect for one another, integrity, discipline, and presentation of self. He wants the swimmers to always set high standards and have high expectations.
