Highlights from San Diego trip

We had a marvelous meet in San Diego.  The weather ranged from average to bad but we swam great.

Here are a few highlights:

Laura Kelly was the star of the meet.  She wore a Speedo LZR suit for the first time and went crazy.

She dropped 10 seconds in the 500 and made her Sectional time in the 100 back.dropping from 1:07 to 1:00.

Meena Tafazzoli dropped 15 seconds in the 400IM, 5+ seconds in the 200 IM and 3 seconds in the 100 Brst.

Brad Perfect dropped almost 4 seconds in the 200 IM and 2 in the 200 free.  He also, remade his winter Jr. Nat. cut.

Paul Quincy dropped 8 seconds in the 1000 and dropped 10 seconds in the 1650 winning that race.

Wesley Goodson and Chris Clark each dropped 7 seconds in their 400 IMs and Chris made the Championship Final in the 200 back with his first ever sub 2:00 swim.  Wesley dropped another 5 seconds in his 200 IM.

Stephanie Rebro dropped 3 seconds in the 100 Brst and 14 seconds in the 1000.

Kalen Hendra dropped 11 seconds in the 200 Back and 7 seconds in the 200 brst.

Ellen Perfect made two new JO cuts.

Linda Lu made two finals at the meet.

Kevin Lu dropped 5 seconds in the 200 back and 7 more in the 200 Brst.

Maile Driggs dropped 8 seconds in the 200 Back and won her heat convincingly in the 100 fly with a 2 second drop..

Natalie Meltzer requalified for the winter Jr. Nationals with a 1:05 100 Brst.

Meghan van Raalte swam all best times and finaled in the 50 free with a best time.

Danielle Douvikas had a great 200 fly and her 400 IM dropped 6 seconds.

Brandon Yee had a great 500 final and a good 200 fly final as well.

Marie Schmidt had a great 1000 dropping 20 seconds and a great 500 free final, as well.

Brian He had a 3 second drop in the 200 Fly finals and had  great 50 and 200 free prelim swims.

These are the highlights.  I am sure I left someone out.  What a great effort by the swimmers.  Thanks again to our chaperone, Kathy Tafazzoli for all her help and thanks to Jim Yee as well.
